The human body is an extremely efficient machine. It can adapt to a changing environment by heating and cooling itself. It can fend of illness with its powerful immune system, and it can metamorphose into bigger or smaller form depending on the demand placed on it.

As a bodybuilder or sportsman, you are trying to increase the stress on your muscle to force them to grow beyond their normal size. That can be a difficult job, because the more you throw at your body, the more it adapts and tries to hold on to its normal size. Mother nature doesn't see a need for that extra muscle, unless those muscles are absolute necessary for survival, which means you have to trick mother nature with constant changes in stress.(exercise)

PREPARATIONS FOR CONTEST:

(1) Training
(2) Dieting
(3) Nutrition
(4) Supplements

(1) Training: As a natural bodybuilder, it takes me 6 to 8 weeks to get prepared for a contest. Within this period, I try to readjust my training technique that is, with alot of repetitions, giant set, cardio exercise,

A lot of repetitions brings cuts and definitions to your body.. Giant sets is when you do two or more exercises at once. It makes your body thinker and fuller. Cardio..It enhances good circulation of blood and eliminate
some percentage of fat. I try to do cardio in the morning with an empty stomach, because with low sugar you burn more fat.

(2) Dieting: This is another vital part of the preparation, were you need to absolutely watch your food intake. Within this period, I try to abstain from any food that contains fat. I also reduce my carbohydrate intake because I only use it for energy. Last, I increase my protein intake which helps me to build muscle tissue.

(3) Supplements: As a natural bodybuilder, my supplement is as good as my training exercise. I use good supplements in gaining mass and losing fat (two goals of nearly every bodybuilders). Understand that our bodies adapt to training. Hard exercise places high demands on available amino acids, protein, glucose, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. There is definitely a relationship between good supplements and hard training. The harder your training is, the better your supplement has to be. If not, it will be impossible to recover from any workout.

(4) Nutrition: After all said and done, I come to the conclusion that no sport person should underestimate the value of nutrition. As a bodybuilder, what I eat plays a great roll in the growth of my muscle tissues. For this reason, I carefully select what I eat, like lean red meat, poultry, fish and egg for protein, and cooked potatoes, rice, and fresh vegetables for carbs. All these techniques gives me the magnificent body I always desired.
